Firefighter dives to avoid being hit by 2 vehicles

The firefighter was directing traffic when an accident occurred

By FireRescue1 Staff

CUBA CITY, Wisc. — A firefighter had to dive to avoid being hit by two vehicles while battling a machine shed fire.

Firefighters had set up traffic control on a nearby highway because of the fire when a woman who had stopped her car was rear-ended by another man who did not notice the traffic control, according to WTAQ.

The woman's car was pushed into a ditch, and the firefighter controlling the traffic had to dive into another ditch to not get hit.

The firefighter was not injured, but both drivers had to be hospitalized for their injuries.

The man who rear-ended the woman was cited for inattentive driving.
