4-alarm blaze closes down Philly trains

The lines were closed for nearly three hours

By Mark Fazlollah
The Philadelphia Inquirer

PHILADELPHIA — Amtrak and SEPTA's Trenton lines were closed for three hours early Sunday as firefighters battled a four-alarm blaze in the Frankford section of the city.

A SEPTA spokesman said the fire, which engulfed one building described as a light manufacturing business at Aramingo Avenue and Wakeling Street, started about 6:30 a.m.

He said that while firefighters worked to get control of the fire about four blocks from SEPTA's Bridesburg station, service was stopped on several trains of both transit agencies. Service resumed about 9:40 a.m. Police said there were no injuries.
