HOLLYWOOD BEACH, Fla. — A Fla. man who was sunbathing has been hospitalized after he was struck by a fire rescue truck on the beach.
Chief of Hollywood Fire Rescue's Beach Safety Division, Vincent Canosa, was flagged down after he rolled over Timoth Clingman with a patrol pick up truck Tuesday afternoon, according to WSVN.
Police and lifeguards flooded the scene to assist.
Clingman, 36, was taken to the hospital with cuts and burns from being under the truck's exhaust pipe.
A witness said he saw blood coming from Clingman's eyes, face, arm and body.
As of Wednesday morning, Clingman is listed in good condition.
Investigators say Chief Canosa did a visual check of surrounding areas while on patrol but failed to get out of the vehicle. They said Canosa did not see Clingman who was lying parallel to an upcoming dune.
