Check your local library

Contributed by: By Tony Vitalie

Many candidates don't realize that firefighter exam preparation books and other resources can often be found at their local libraries. Before purchasing these books, check with your local libraries to see what resources they have on their shelves. I was surprised to find that my nearby library had several different firefighter exam prep books.

Aside from actual firefighter prep books, other great resources are also available, such as business mathematics books and other basic math concept books. These books often contain the same kinds of math problems you are likely to encounter on an entry level civil service exam.
