We Remember

New York firefighters continue to battle blazes at the World Trade Center in New York, Wednesday, Sept. 18, 2001, one week after the attack.

Never Forget. This phrase has captioned countless posters, pictures and video since the terrorist attacks of Sept. 11, 2001. Each time we say it — or see it and believe it — we promise ourselves and each other that we'll live out the limitless potential of the lives cut short that day.

That's so much easier said than done. But a good first step is learning from our losses and changing ourselves and the way we do things in a positive way.

The following collection of articles presents some of the problems and progress encountered since Sept. 11. We hope reading it inspires you to learn from your fire-service brethren and to take steps to prepare, personally and professionally, for the next catastrophic event.
