Firefighter calendar girls compete for votes in New Zealand
For every $10 calendar sold, $1 is given to The Child Cancer Foundation
WELLINGTON, New Zealand — Twelve female firefighters in New Zealand are competing to be the top cover girl for a charity calendar.
Anyone on Facebook can visit the competition's page and vote by clicking "like" on the firefighters they want to see on the cover.
Whichever firefighter ends up with the most "likes" by July 31 will be the new cover girl.
Everyone who votes will be entered in a drawing to win one of 10 calendars, and two lucky grand prize winners will have their calendar personally delivered to them if they live in New Zealand.
For every $10 calendar sold, $1 is given to The Child Cancer Foundation, while all other proceeds go to the firefighters to help them travel to and compete in the World Firefighter Games & Challenges.
Since the annual calendar was started 22 years ago, $640,000 have been raised.
