Firefighter recovering after fall through floor

Assistant Fire Chief Ryan Coburn fell 10 feet into a house basement while fighting a fire

NBC 13

NORWALK, Iowa — The Norwalk firefighter who was hurt working inside a burning home on Tuesday is now recovering at home.

Assistant Fire Chief, Ryan Coburn was fighting flames on the first floor of the house when the floor collapsed beneath him. He dropped 10 feet into the basement.

Coburn was able to climb out on his own. He suffered just minor injuries and has been released from hospital.

Investigators are calling the fire suspicious. They say no electricity was hooked up to the house when it caught fire.
