Fireman's Fund offers free wildfire recovery services to Southern California customers and agents

BUSINESS WIRE

NOVATO, Calif. — Because the devastating effects of the Southern California wildfires impact all of its policyholders, Fireman’s Fund Insurance Company is offering all Southern California customers and independent insurance agents a series of recovery services.

Those services include travel and concierge services for evacuated individuals; assistance with locating temporary housing and transportation; assistance with emergency medical assistance; immediate trauma counseling; referrals for financial and legal assistance; and personalized assistance in coping with the practical and emotional effects of wildfires. The services are free to Fireman’s Fund agents and all customers – both individual homeowners and commercial customers.

“Not only do wildfires have dramatic impacts on homeowners and business owners, they also affect entire communities,” said Chuck Kavitsky, chief executive officer of Fireman’s Fund. “That’s why we are extending our services to all of our policyholders and agents in Southern California. We hope this assistance will help these communities mend and rebuild.”

The California-based insurer has years of experience in assisting Californians in times of natural disaster, including wildfires. “That’s why Fireman’s Fund developed a dedicated catastrophe response team to go beyond insurance to proactively address the needs of our customers and provide access to programs to speed recovery and improve quality of life,” said Robert Courtemanche, president of Fireman’s Fund Personal Insurance. “This is part of our commitment to help our community.”

Policyholders and agents may call 1 (866) 456-3108, and select the appropriate wildfire recovery service from the menu. The callers are then connected with counselors from the following firms for assistance:

World Access, a sister company of Fireman’s Fund, an international leader in emergency medical assistance and travel, provides assistance for short-term recovery issues.
NEAS, a nationally recognized provider of mental health counseling and trauma assistance, including a network of 7,900 trained psychological counselors.
Fireman’s Fund is currently reaching out to all of its customers and agents in threatened fire areas and has staff deployed in those areas to respond immediately to customer needs and concerns.
