Ga. firefighter killed in rollover

Duty Death: Jarrett Little - [Walker County, Georgia]

Chattanooga Times Free Press (Tennessee)

WALKER COUNTY, Ga. — A Walker County and Fort Oglethorpe firefighter died late Wednesday night when the firetruck he was driving overturned on the way to a fire, officials said.

Jarrett Little, a 23-year-old volunteer firefighter, was pronounced dead at Hutcheson Medical Center around midnight, according to Deputy Chief Paul Linder with Walker County Emergency Services. Two other firefighters, Matt Mills and Adam Lozano, received minor injured in the accident and were released from the hospital.

Officials with Georgia State Patrol still are investigating why Mr. Little's firetruck wrecked near the intersection of McFarland Avenue and Mission Ridge Road in Rossville on the way to the Chattanooga Valley fire, Deputy Chief Linder said.

Another fire station that also responded to the fire, was able to easily extinguish the small blaze.
