Responding Md. fire chief killed in crash


Duty Death: Charles Fletcher Clough Jr. - [Sudlersville, Maryland]

SUDLERSVILLE, Md. — The Queen Anne's County Sheriff's Office say the chief of the Sudlersville Volunteer Fire Company died in a vehicle accident in Sudlersville Wednesday night.

According to investigators, 41-year-old Charles Fletcher "Buck" Clough Jr. was responding to an appliance fire on Main Street at around 8 p.m. Police say that while en route to the call he was involved in a single vehicle crash that occurred on Sudlersville Cemetery Road near Duhamel Corner Road.

Clough was pronounced dead at the scene. Police say Clough was the only occupant of the Ford truck at the time of the accident.
