Two Dallas firefighters shot after attending Super Bowl in Ariz.

PEORIA, Ariz. — Two Dallas firefighters were shot early Monday as they walked from a Peoria, Ariz., bar to their hotel after the Super Bowl.

Charles Whitaker, 38, and Reginald Cuington, 43, were walking to their hotel around 1 a.m. when a car pulled up and someone inside opened fire.

Both men were taken to the hospital. Mr. Whitaker had life-threatening injuries and Cuington had a gunshot wound to the leg, according to police. Arizona media reported that the more seriously injured man was hit in the leg, chest and head and undergoing surgery.
