FORT SALONGA, N.Y. — A volunteer firefighter was killed Tuesday morning on Long Island after a car crossed lanes and struck his motorcyle.

Police say 33-year-old Jason Curry was driving on Route 25A in Fort Salonga when he crossed over the double yellow line and struck Charles Varese, 24, as he was riding a motorcycle.
