Colo. firefighter mourned after battle with cancer

By Nick Bonham
The Pueblo Chieftain

PUEBLO, Colo. — Tears mixed with laughter at the memorial service for Pueblo firefighter William "Billy" D. Pine on Wednesday.

The 29-year-old's life and career were cut short Aug. 19 by colon cancer after a two-year battle.

Hundreds attended his funeral, which included an hourlong procession through town, past every fire station Pine worked at during his five years with the Pueblo Fire Department.
