| Plan to downplay Charleston fire probe revealed  |

Gov. Mark Sanford's office and state workplace officials consulted on a plan to minimize publicity surrounding the results of an investigation into Charleston's deadly Sofa Super Store fire, according to documents obtained by The Post and Courier through the Freedom of Information Act.

| In a matter of weeks, it will be official: rehab is a requirement. NFPA 1584, "Standard on the Rehabilitation Process for Members During Emergency Operations and Training Exercises," becomes effective in January. For the past four years, it has existed only as a recommendation. Full Column |
