The demolition of one of the last remaining ruins of the World Trade Center terrorist attacks, the former Deutsche Bank building, may face more delays, it has emerged.

Two months ago, the chairman of the Lower Manhattan Development Corporation said he hoped the stalled effort to demolish the building would resume in November. That didn't happen, and now the scarred and toxic structure may have won a reprieve at least until the end of the year ... Full Story

As the song goes, "the weather outside is frightful ..." It certainly applies to many parts of the country at the moment. I remember, not that long ago, that such weather wouldn't have deterred a soul from being on the roads, especially during the holiday shopping season. Thankfully the number of traffic accidents has definitely decreased in my neck of the woods at least.

At a recent fire-EMS trade show, a group approached me with a question that I had been asked many times before. Their query was specific to the Assistance to Firefighters Grant Program, and whether or not a particular product was on the Authorized Equipment List. When asked why they associated the AEL with the program, they seemed a bit perplexed.
