TV station settles with survivors
of R.I. nightclub fire

A TV station and a cameraman accused of getting in the way of people fleeing the 2003 nightclub fire that killed 100 people have reached a tentative $30 million settlement with survivors and victims' relatives, station officials said Saturday.

It is the largest settlement reached so far with the dozens of people and organizations who sued over the fire at a nightclub in West Warwick, R.I. The blaze began when pyrotechnics ignited flammable soundproofing foam around the stage ... Full Story
