Dear FR1 Member,

DHS has announced dates for the FY2009 Assistance to Firefighters Grants program. The AFG application period begins this Wednesday, April 15, and runs through Wednesday, May 20 at 5 p.m. Eastern.

From today until the deadline, we'll be focused on helping to guide you through the AFG application process with exclusive articles from grant experts, including 'Getting Grants' columnist Jerry Brant. He will be dissecting the basics of AFG grant writing in a special series that begins with today's installment, 'Guide to AFG: Describing Your Project.'

And don't forget to check FireGrantsHelp.com for the latest news, tips and resources on AFG and other grant programs.
