DHS Announces Round 34 of AFG Grant Awards



 

 

WASHINGTON — The Department of Homeland Security announced round 34 of AFG grant awards this month bringing the total amount of money awarded to more than $472 million. A total of 4967 grants have been awarded to various departments throughout the United States.

The primary goal of the AFG grants is to meet the firefighting and emergency response needs of fire departments and nonaffiliated emergency medical services organizations. Since 2001, AFG has helped firefighters and other first responders to obtain critically needed equipment, protective gear, emergency vehicles, training, and other resources needed to protect the public and emergency personnel from fire and related hazards.
