Mich. firefighter collapses while conducting prevention duties

CHARLEVOIX, Mich. — An Assistant Fire Chief in Michigan died Saturday.

Ralph Cross, of the Charlevoix Township Fire Department, was performing fire prevention and education duties when he collapsed and died from an apparent heart attack. The cause of death was listed as stress and overexertion. Firefighter Cross was 73.
