Search and rescue crews comb Calif. county for missing pilot

NEW CUYAMA, Calif. — An experienced pilot vanishes in Santa Barbara County.

The County Search and Rescue Team, two helicopters and sheriff's deputies are actively searching for the missing pilot and his plane.

Saturday morning, 45 year old Chris Kidd, who lives near Taft in Kern County, took off for Cottonwood Canyon Road. That's about 13 miles west of New Cuyama.
