District Overview: The Arvada Fire Protection District is a combination department comprised of volunteer and full time personnel. Arvada Fire celebrated its 100th anniversary in December 2011. Although the primary emergency responsibilities include fire protection and emergency medical service, the fire district is an all hazard department with special teams for wildland firefighting, swift water and ice rescue, technical rescue, and hazardous materials mitigation. The Arvada Fire Protection District (AFPD) is an independent governmental entity providing essential emergency services relating to the preservation of life and property to the City of Arvada, portions of the City of Wheat Ridge and unincorporated Jefferson County. AFPD prides itself on maintaining an outstanding delivery of emergency services. We are a community oriented public service organization whose mission is to provide our customers with life safety and property conservation through quality fire protection, public education and professional service. Job Requirements
  • Age 18 years of age
  • Education High School Grad/GED
  • Experience Academy Certification
  • Additional Requirement :
    Age: 18 US Citizen: Lawfully work in the US High School Grad/GED: High school diploma or GED Valid COLORADO State Driver's License: Possess a valid driver’s license issued within the United States and then obtain a Colorado Driver’s license within 90 days of date of hire Vision: Must pass NFPA 1582 physical. Academy Certification: • Colorado EMT/Paramedic Refer to their website for information regarding reciprocity • CPR Professional Rescuer • American Heart Association ACLS Provider Disqualifiers/Behaviors • Any felony involving theft • Crimes against a person • DUI in the past 3 years • 3 or more moving violations in the past 3 years • Posses a good driving history and be insurable under the District's insurance policy • If extended a conditional offer, must successfully pass a pre-employment background check, criminal history review, physical, medical evaluation, and drug screen
