Classification: Firefighter/Paramedic
Snohomish County Fire District #4 is currently seeking candidates for Firefighter/Paramedic. All test results must be submitted by end of business day April 6, 2012. Candidates need both FireTEAM Testing and CPAT to proceed. Candidates will be invited to fill out the District application after the closing date. Salary Information:
2012 Probationary Firefighter/Paramedic: $5209.76 to $6913.31

Area Information:
SNOHOMISH FIRE & RESCUE (Snohomish County Fire District #4) is a suburban/rural fire department located East of the City of Everett in the central Snohomish county region. Encompassing approximately 60 square miles and a population of around 26,000 residents, the area of coverage for fire/rescue/emergency medical service is mostly a rural bedroom community with the City of Snohomish located in the middle of the fire district. Our goal is to treat everyone with a neighborly attitude one would find within a small community. Snohomish is located a hour away form the City of Seattle and the Cascade mountains giving residents the opportunity to enjoy the year-round entertainment activities.

Job Requirements

- Age 21 years of age
- Education High School Grad
- Experience Must have AT LEAST 24 months of pre-hospital paramedic EXPERIENCE as a fulltime employed paramedic as of January 31st 2012
- Additional Requirement :

US Citizen
High School Grad/GED
Valid WASHINGTON State Driver's License: Valid Washington State driver's License at time of appointment
Ability to Read/Speak English
Vision: Correctable
College: Not required
Prior Experience:
Minimum Qualifications:
Must have AT LEAST 24 months of pre-hospital paramedic EXPERIENCE as a fulltime employed paramedic as of January 31st 2012. (Time spent for paramedic school will not be considered.) Must have sufficient work experience to be able to work unsupervised and able to become Snohomish County certified.
Fire service experience is NOT required to apply. Successful candidates will attend the Washington State Fire Recruit Academy. (Academy attendance may be waived with proof of completion of an accredited state fire academy with a minimum of 360 hours of documented Fire Fighter I training).
Must be a current certified Washington State or National Registry EMT-P.
Paramedic:
Must be a current certified Washington State or National Registry EMT-P.
Essential Job Duties:
Consistently show up for work on time, being physically and mentally ready to perform the duties of a Firefighter/Paramedic
Diligently and consistently support the Mission of the District.
Under extremely stressful conditions involving personal danger, trauma, suffering and tragedy, responds to emergency and non-emergency fire, rescue and emergency medical incidents in specialized District apparatus as Fire Fighter/Paramedic or apparatus operator -- operating specialized rescue, emergency medical, and/or fire extinguishing equipment to mitigate the emergency or request for service.
Completes and maintains accurate reports commensurate with all assigned duties and responsibilities.
Participates in life safety, accident and fire prevention educational programs.
Participates in training activities and attends classes relative to and commensurate with the duties and responsibilities of a Fire Fighter/Paramedic.
Regularly performs general maintenance work to District facilities, grounds, apparatus and equipment -- testing, cleaning, and repairing as needed to assure that apparatus, equipment, facilities, and grounds are fully operational for immediate response and always highly presentable to the public.
