Remember the role of grants in firefighter safety



Number 10 in the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation's 16 Life Safety Initiatives is the following: "Grant programs should support the implementation of safe practices and/or mandate safe practices as an eligibility requirement."

As if you needed another reason to focus on safety at your department, this should serve as notice that grant programs will increasingly focus on safety statistics when evaluating your applications.
