3rd International Fire Ecology & Management Congress Nov. 13-17

The Association for Fire Ecology and Washington State University would like to invite you to participate in the 3rd International Fire Ecology & Management Congress on November 13-17, 2006 to be held at the Town & Country Resort & Convention Center in San Diego, CA.  The Congress is hosted by the Association for Fire Ecology in cooperation with Washington State University Extension, Tall Timbers Research Station, and the Nature Conservancy. The 3rd International Fire Ecology & Management Congress provides a week long focus on the science and technology that are the basis for the management of wildland fire. The theme of the opening plenary session is "Changing fire regimes: Context and consequences," featuring invited speakers who will further explore this topic that is so significant for fire management. Congress topics will range from fire effects on vegetation and wildlife, fire in a landscape context, fuels management, and post fire rehabilitation, to the latest technology for predicting and monitoring fire. Over 1,200 Congress delegates from around the world are expected to attend.
