2 Tenn. firefighters critical after fire truck crash

Fire truck from Braden was putting out grass fire on interstate when pickup slammed into it

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — One person was killed and three others injured when a pickup slammed into a fire truck on Interstate 40 in Fayette County Monday, officials said.

The incident happened just after 5 p.m. at mile marker 40, according to the Tennessee Highway Patrol.

The fire truck from Braden was putting out a grass fire on the interstate, officials said, when the accident happened.

The driver of the truck was killed, and his passenger as well as two firefighters were all hospitalized in critical condition.
