The "5,10,20 Rule" for undeployed airbags

Name: Brad French
Rank: Firefighter/Paramedic
Department:Xenia (OH) Fire Division, OH

When operating in and around vehicles at a crash, it's important to remember that in some cases, the airbags can deploy even after the key has been removed and the battery disconnected. Utilize the "5,10,20 Rule." Stay five inches away from side-curtain airbags, 10 inches from the driver's airbag and 20 inches from the passenger airbag.
