Ind. volunteer firefighter laid to rest

EATON, Ind. — Friends, family and fellow firefighters said a final goodbye to an Eaton firefighter who died in the line of duty.

41-year-old Jay Maddy, known as "Bub" spent 20 years with the Eaton Volunteer Fire Department. Friends said he's been a firefighter at heart since age 8.

Although the job never paid, colleagues said Captain Maddy's compensation was the satisfaction of helping others.
