Photos: Firefighters, EMS providers remember 9/11 with tattoos
Today and every day, first responders around the world pause to remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice 16 years ago

The decision to get a tattoo is different for everyone. Some people get tattoos to wear the name of their loved ones or to show off their favorite sports team. Firefighter tattoos often depict symbols of the fire service, (e.g., the Maltese cross, an axe or a halligan), or a company or engine number.
But every tattoo artist will tell you one thing – make sure your tattoo is meaningful. After all, a tattoo is permanent.
For these firefighters and EMS providers, they don't need to be permanently reminded of the Sept. 11 World Trade Center attacks. Today and every day, first responders around the world pause to remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice 16 years ago.
Here's a collection of 9/11 memorial tattoos. Please share the slideshow, and if you have one, please feel free to share your 9/11 tattoo in the comment section below. Our thoughts remain with the fallen responders' colleagues, families and friends, as well as those responders who are still fighting health complications from Ground Zero.
We will never forget.
