GEORGE COUNTY, Miss. — A fire chief died Sunday at the scene of a vehicle fire.

WLOX reported that Howell Volunteer Fire Department Chief Bobby Dunaway responded to a vehicle fire and was working to extinguish it when he suffered a medical emergency and collapsed, according to the George County Sheriff’s Department.

Dunaway was unable to recover after the incident and later died. 

No other details have been released. We will update you when more information becomes available.
