JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A Jacksonville firefighter has been suspended following his arrest on a charge of lewd and lascivious exposure at Sea Side Park on South Fletcher Avenue, according to the Fernandina Beach Police Department.

Brandon Patrick Conn was arrested May 30 and released the same day on $10,000 bail, according to jail records. Employed since 2008 as an engineer, Conn was suspended without pay pending adjudication, city spokeswoman Nikki Kimbleton said.

"As soon as we were notified of Mr. Conn's arrest, he was immediately removed from contact with the public and placed on administrative duties," Kimbleton said. "It took several days to confirm the severity of the charges against him as a result of legal protections to the accused. As soon as that information was confirmed, he was immediately suspended without pay pending adjudication."

The police report states the incident occurred just after 1:30 p.m. March 11 outside a bathroom at the oceanfront park. A girl and her sister told their mother that a man got out of a white Toyota pickup truck with no clothing on, and "exposed his 'front' to her." The girl told her mother the man said nothing to her and did not touch himself.

The mother went to the man and asked what happened. He denied exposing himself, saying he was only changing, the report said.

Another person told officers he had seen the man standing next to his pickup tuck wearing only a towel around his waist, the report said

A witness saw the pickup truck's license plate and told police, who tracked it to Conn.
