2017 SAFECOM survey assesses state of emergency communications

The Department of Homeland Security OEC released the data to guide the development of policies, programs and funding

ARLINGTON, Va. — A nationwide survey was recently released to assess the current state of emergency communications.

The Department of Homeland Security Office of Emergency Communications released the 2017 SAFECOM Nationwide Survey in an effort to collect data that will guide the development of emergency communication policies, programs and funding. 

SAFECOM is seeking to gain responses from all first responders who use communications technology for both day-to-day and unique situations.

In order to create the survey, SAFECOM teamed up with various public safety and government partners that represent the communications community to make sure the content reflects current public safety processes, practices, personnel and equipment.
