ANDERSON, S.C. — A man died after going back inside his burning home to get his cellphone.
WNCN reported that a family was inside a single-wide trailer when it caught fire, including the victim, 22, his fiancée and her teenage daughter, according to Anderson County Deputy Coroner Charlie Boseman.
The woman woke up and noticed smoke, and all three people initially made it out of the mobile home.
The victim went back inside to get his phone and became trapped in a back bedroom, according to Boseman.
The fire is still under investigation, but officials think it could have been caused by a cigarette.
