LEBANON, Pa. — A chief engineer/firefighter died Jan. 4 after being hospitalized for an incident on Dec. 24.
U.S. Fire Administration reported that Donald Leroy "Sarge" Brenner Jr., 67, with the Speedwell Engine and Hose Company, was at the scene of a car crash on Christmas Eve when crews found him slumped over the steering wheel of a fire engine.
Brenner was found in cardiac arrest and hospitalized in critical condition, where he later died.
