HUDSON, N.Y. — A firefighter died Thursday less than 12 hours after responding to two fire calls.
According to a Facebook post from Hudson Fire Commissioner Timothy Hutchings, Hudson Fire Department firefighter Mark Graziano, 47, was found unresponsive in his home after battling two blazes in 24 hours.
Hutchings said Graziano began his fire career as an explorer at the age of 14, and became a firefighter in 1989 when he was 18.
He served as the department’s medical officer for several years, was a former captain, and was a member of the dive/rescue team as well as a member of the Columbia County hazardous materials team.
