At least 7 injured in NYC fire
Among the injured is a 14-year-old girl; three firefighters also suffered minor injuries
NEW YORK — At least seven people were injured – including a 14-year-old girl and three firefighters – in an extra-alarm blaze in the Bronx Sunday.
As 1010 WINS’ Gary Baumgarten reported, the fire broke out just before 5:30 p.m. in an apartment building at 941 Intervale Ave., in the East Morrisania section of the Bronx. The fire started on the first floor and blocked residents’ path, so everyone had to use the fire escape.
Two of the civilian victims were reported in critical condition, and two others in serious, but stable, condition. One of the victims was a 14-year-old girl, but it was not immediately clear which. Also among the injured was a woman who fell from the fire escape.
