MANASSAS, Va. — Two firefighters and one resident were taken to the hospital after a fire at a Manassas apartment complex, officials said.

About 11 p.m. Monday, firefighters were called to a fire in a third-floor apartment located at 11211 Lady Jane Loop. When they arrived, firefighters saw the blaze moving from the third floor to the building's roof.

Firefighters went to the third floor to extinguish the flames, but a short time later part of the roof collapsed into the third floor. A few firefighters were disoriented from the collapse, and they were able to leave the floor without being injured. Firefighters then suppressed the bulk of the fire from outside the building, according to Prince William County Fire and Rescue Capt. James Paul.
