Vol. chief, firefighter busted for sex assault
The 53- and 35-year-old firefighters were arrested for having sexual relations with members of a junior firefighting program
COVENTRY, Conn. — Two volunteer firefighters in Coventry were arrested for having sexual relations with members of the junior firefighters program, police said.
According to police, 53-year-old Joseph Michael Carilli and 35-year-old Joe Fragoso are both members of the Coventry Volunteer Fire Association, which is commonly referred to as the South Coventry Fire Department. Police said an investigation revealed that both Carilli and Fragoso had been having sexual relations with members of the CVFA Junior Firefighter program.
Carilli had been the chief of volunteer fire department from June 2006 to November 30, 2012 after which he became the Department's Training Officer. Fragoso has been a fire lieutenant at that department since June 2012.
