AURORA, Ill. — A Comcast cable employee suffered leg injuries Monday when he fell from a ladder and was “skewered” by a wrought-iron fence in Aurora.

Authorities said the man’s first name is Adam but refused to release his full name and his condition. “He was just kind of skewered there,” Deputy Fire Chief John Lehman said.

The Comcast worker’s legs were impaled on a spiked fence that surrounds the Mutual Ground domestic abuse shelter, officials said.

Firefighters cut and sawed through the fence as the man clenched his fists and screamed in pain, officials said.

He was conscious and talking as firefighters freed him and put him in an ambulance, officials said.
