ELKHART, Ind. — Video shows the daring rescue firefighters made of a couple trapped in a truck, hanging off an interstate bridge on June 9.

Fire and EMS crews responded to the crash on the westbound lanes of the Indiana Toll Road and saw a box truck with the cab hanging off the side of a bridge, WTHR reported.

Police stated the box truck was in the right lane, approaching traffic that had slowed down for construction in the area. The driver of the box truck did not notice the slowed traffic and made an evasive maneuver trying to get onto the shoulder.

The box truck struck the guardrail, then an RV and Jeep before coming to a stop with the cab hanging over the side of a bridge.

Video from Indiana State Police Sgt. Ted Bohner showed the truck hanging over a waterway as firefighters worked to free two people in the cab.

The complex rescue involved first responders from the Elkhart Fire Department, Osolo Township Fire Department, Cleveland Township Fire Department and the Indiana toll road maintenance company.

Officials said there were no reported injuries.
