Mo. fire department buys new aerial unit

City will pay $700K for the new rig and refurbish one of old aerial trucks

ST. JOSEPH, Mo. — The St. Joseph Fire Department has a new, state-of-the-art tool to fight fires.

Crews at Station 6 customized the aerial ladder truck to fit their wants and needs, as well as meet the needs of the area they serve. Called a Roadrunner, the fire engine is a much updated and efficient version of the department's two existing ladder trucks.
