ALBERTVILLE, Ga. — For the second time in two years, Albertville is hosting the Scott Safety Firefighter Combat Challenge, billed as “the toughest two minutes in sports.”
The event is set for Mother’s Day weekend, starting Saturday at 11 a.m. and Sunday at 1 p.m., at the Albertville Recreation Center.
“Tuscaloosa was supposed to host it this year, but with the tornadoes’ destruction they were just unable to,” said Lindsey King, special event coordinator for the Marshall County Convention and Visitors Bureau. “That’s when we stepped up, and we’re actually going to be honoring the Tuscaloosa Fire Department during opening ceremonies.”
