Webbing in the RIT kit

By Mark van der Feyst

Be sure that your RIT kit is stocked with webbing, as it will aid in rescuing a downed firefighter. When stocking the RIT kit, keep it light as possible. Overloading it with too many tools and other items will weigh the kit down and make it unworkable.

The kit should have at least two separate lengths of webbing between 15 and 20 feet tied in a loop so that it is ready to go. Having it accessible will also aid in quick deployment.
