Rescue Vac Systems, Inc. Named a Winner of 2009 Chicago Innovation Awards for its RescueVac 800 Series Rescue Kit for Trench Rescue Emergencies

North Aurora, IL - Rescue Vac Systems, Inc. of North Aurora, IL and with manufacturing facilities in Aurora, IL has been named a winner of the 2009 Chicago Innovation Awards. Rescue Vac was honored for its 800 series rescue kit which is changing the way fire departments rescue victims from trench collapses and has been used to successfully rescue 7 victims over the past 18 months.

“We are honored, but also humbled to receive such a prestigious honor and to be recognized with other well respected companies” states David Adler, President and the inventor of the Rescue Vac. Recognizing that victims of trench collapse incidents were dying due to extended rescue times, which would take 6-8 hours using shovels and buckets to remove the dirt, it was determined that a better way had to be made available. Through newly developed and patented equipment and procedures, the Rescue Vac 800 series rescue kit was created. As our slogan indicates “Saves Time, Saves Lives”, the utilization of the Rescue Vac reduces the rescue time by as much as 80%, taking a rescue from hours to minutes. “Reducing the time to rescue an entrapped victim increases the chance of survivability” states Mark Bozik, Vice President of RescueVac, as shown with the multiple documented saves utilizing the Rescue Vac, including the rescue of 2 victims in Chicago on August 23rd. Within 10 minutes of using the Rescue Vac to remove sand and soil from around the victims, both victims were removed with minimal or no injuries. Rescue Vac Systems, Inc. is changing the way entrapped victims are rescued.
