Don’t be left in the dark with truck-mounted perimeter LEDs
With powerful new LED’s on the market, it is tempting to think putting lights on each corner of the truck will save the cost of a tower.
However, half of the light output will always be on the side away from the scene. Sports stadiums have clusters of lights because light gathers.
You can get this same effect by mounting the 4 or 6 LED’s on a tower and use all the LED’s on whatever side of the truck you need. You can see how much more powerful the usable light is when all the LEDs can be elevated and pointed in the same direction.
Another benefit of a light tower is that it doesn’t affect your ability to see when facing the truck where perimeter lighting can make it difficult to see.
