DC firefighter hurt in fire truck crash that killed 1

Officials said the firefighter suffered minor injuries; the driver of the car that crashed into the rig died and a pregnant bystander was critically hurt

WASHINGTON — The driver of a car that crashed into a fire truck Friday died from his injuries and a pregnant bystander was critically injured, according to officials. 

FOX5 DC reported that a D.C. Fire and EMS crew was responding to a call when Deangelo Green  T-boned the fire truck with his car after the rig drove through a green light.

Officials said the driver was extricated from the car and transported to the hospital, where he later died.

A pregnant woman who was standing on the sidewalk when the crash occurred was also transported to the hospital in critical condition.

A firefighter suffered minor injuries in the crash and is expected to be OK.

Officials are currently investigating the crash.
