Occupied multiple apartment style house with a fire in the rear apartment and in the walls.
Went from a Box Alarm to a Second Alarm Fire in several minutes due to high winds and very close older wooden buildings in downtown Rochester.
No flames visible from the outside but heavy smoke conditions from the side and rear of the structure at times smoke banking down into the street level and obscuring visibility of the building itself
No injuries reported at scene
6 People left homeless due to the extensive smoke and water damage through the structure
Rochester Fire Marshall office estimates $ 100,000 in damages to the building
Red Cross was called to assist residents as power was cut to the apartment house during the fire.
