LEALMAN FIRE DISTRICT 4360 55TH AVENUE NORTH ST. PETERSBURG, FLORIDA 33714 Web Site: Updated: August 31, 2011 Classification: Firefighter / Paramedic The Lealman Fire District is currently hiring for Firefighter/Paramedic. Candidates must have FireTEAM testing and an NTN issued CPAT. There will be a closing date for this hiring cycle to be announced. Department Description: Lealman Fire District is located in Pinellas County Florida. It is comprised of residential, multifamily, commercial and industrial complexes. We are one of the busiest departments in Pinellas County running nearly 10,000 Fire and EMS calls a year. In 2009 Lealman Fire District was awarded the Fire and EMS contract for Tierra Verde Florida and in doing so we have expanded our delivery services to include a county park, and miles of beaches. Members of our department enjoy a generous benefit package, excellent equipment and working environment. We currently operate three stations. Out of those are run three ALS engines, one ALS rescue and our District Chief’s command vehicle.

    US Citizen Valid FLORIDA State Driver's License Ability to Read and Speak the English Language Vision • Far visual acuity: Far visual acuity shall be at least 20/30 binocular corrected with contact lenses or eyeglasses. Far visual acuity uncorrected shall be at least 20/100 binocular for wearers of hard contacts or spectacles. Successful long-term soft contact lens wearers shall not be subject to the uncorrected criterion. • Any other eye condition that results in a person not being able to perform the essential job functions of a Firefighter, NFPA 1582. Academy Certification Yes Necessary Certifications: State Certified firefighter, State Certified Paramedic, ACLS, ITLS or PHTLS, and CPR. Felony, Criminal Activity Disqualifiers: Must not have any felony convictions within the last 4 years. Conviction or plea of nolo contendere of a felony, or conviction of a misdemeanor directly related to the position of firefighter, shall exclude an applicant from employment for a period of four (4) years after the expiration of sentence or final release by the Parole Commission unless the applicant, prior to the expiration of the four (4) year period, has received a full pardon or has had his or her civil rights restored. Where the sentence of an applicant is suspended or adjudication is withheld and a period of probation is imposed, the applicant must have been released from probation before being eligible for employment. See F.S. 112.011(2)(b) and F.S. 633.34(2). Driving Disqualifiers: A license revocation, multiple convictions of DUI, a twelve point suspension and/or multiple moving violations. Drug Use Disqualifiers: Pre-employment testing required. Employment Disqualifiers: Failure of any of the following pre-employment tests: • Driving records check • Physical examination, including drug screening • Background check Additional Disqualifiers: The applicant must be a non user of tobacco products for at least one year prior to date of application and throughout their employment with this department. Must be able to wear a respirator as prescribed by NFPA 1500 standards and meet the physical requirements of NFPA 1582.
