This urban and rural fire district has 77 line firefighters and roughly 50 active volunteer members. CKFR provides fire & EMS services including transport of the sick and injured. CKFR has a long history of developing employees to higher levels within the organization.Area Information: Central Kitsap Fire and Rescue is located on the Puget Sound one hour's ferry ride from Seattle. Job RequirementsAge: 21US Citizen: YesHigh School Grad/GED: YesValid WASHINGTON State Driver's License: YesAbility to Read/Speak English: YesVision: 1582 standardsCollege: Not required, but preferredAcademy Certification: YesPrior Experience: Not required, but preferredNecessary Certifications: •Be certified as a Washington State EMT-P, or have National Registry EMT-P and obtain Washington State certification within 90 days of hire. •Be able to comply with all state and Kitsap County policies, procedures, protocols, and directives at time of hire. •Possess IFSAC Firefighter I certification, or equivalent, and be a graduate of the Washington State Fire Academy or an equivalent fire academy satisfactory to the Department. •Possess a valid Washington State Driver's License or the ability to legally drive and obtain a Washington license within 60 days of appointment. Be EVIP certified. •Prefer 2 years' experience in position.Schooling Prior and Post Hiring: Must have HS/GED. Prefer AA degree or higher in fire science or related field.Additional Information:Conditional offers include passing all tests, including a proficiency exam with Kitsap County EMS.
