The City of Albany, CA is seeking a Fire Chief!

This position offers challenges and opportunities in a unique historical community on San Francisco Bay. Professionalism, tact, empathy, and leadership skills, particularly the ability to demonstrate sensitivity to the community and build an inclusive work environment, are critical for the success of this position.

The successful candidate will be a skilled administrator and demonstrate an open and patient approach respecting different opinions and perspectives from the City Council and the community. A key component of this role will be bridging administrative and operational issues between various departments in order to translate the goals of the City Manager and City Council into actionable objectives within the Fire Department. Finally, the candidate will need to value the perspectives of employees and work collaboratively with them to ensure a safe, motivated and professional workforce.
