JOB SUMMARY
Under the supervision of a fire captain or designee, performs fire suppression, rescue, and property conservation activities. Performs as a pre-hospital medical emergency first responder to provide emergency medical care to victims of accidents or illness. Transports patients to destination facilities in an ambulance. Participates in or conducts fire prevention activities including inspection and code enforcement. Participates in or conducts public education activities as directed. Participates in drills, classes and other department training activities. This is specialized work performed in accordance with department, regional, state, national and industry standards. All persons hired in this position are required to achieve and maintain certification as a National Registry certifications according to EMS provider level and Utah Firefighter II.

South Davis Metro Fire provides emergency and public services to the cities of Bountiful, Centerville, North Salt Lake, West Bountiful, Woods Cross and the unincorporated areas of South Davis County, Utah. All of these cities are located in the south end of Davis County which borders Salt Lake City. Our five fire stations are located strategically throughout our jurisdictional boundaries to provide all of our citizens with the quickest response available. Our emergency services include fire, ambulance, paramedic, hazardous material and technical rescue response. Our public services include fire prevention, public education, CERT, first aid and CPR classes, business inspections, fire investigations, and much more.
Entry level candidates will be required to complete a recruit academy where necessary certifications will be obtained. Lateral offers will be considered based on certifications and years of experience.
